Hi everyone thankyou all for all your little msgs. Sorry we haven't done a blog for a while but we hate computers! We had an amazing time down in the south Island. I absoloutly loved Queenstown, really beautiful town on a massive lake surrounded by loads of mountains! Here we decided to do hang-gliding which was definately an experience-I however could not get my feet in the straps so was left hanging for the whole duration by my stomach- how I was not sick I do not know...some photos to follow! We also did some white water rafting here down an old gold mining canyon which was great fun! We then moved onto fox glacier and did a hike on one! it was really facinating even though it did piss it down the whole day ! After the glaciers we cruised upto Abel Tasman nation park and spent the day kayaking down the coast with the most stunning beaches and coves. (and seals!!!) You really have to see the south island to actually believe how beautiful it is, and even then it sometimes looks fake!
So after about 3wks down south we decided to head back up to the North island, (god I hate ferries!) we met up with my friend Rob from uni for 3 nights who is living in wellington, so he took us out on the raz which was good fun! we even got to stay in a propper bed which was like amazing!! We then cruised up the west coast to waitomo caves and did some rubber tubing through them and saw millions of glowworrms... so cool. The caves themselves were stunning, perry saw some eels too which Im glad I didn't know were in there!! We then stopped at a few surf beaches and a cute little marine reserve off of Goat Island where we did some snorkelling. saw some really big fish and stingrays!! We are now up at the bay of Islands which is beautiful, trying to decide what to do about the whole thailan situation. Were thinking of changing to fiji or bali but emirates dont fly there so we are contemplating things at the mo.
Anyway we will put some picks up soon. off to do some more kayaking now, love jane and perry xxxx
ps the scran out here rocks !!!!!
