HEY!
SO, it's Saturday and I leave Wednesday morning...I can't believe that it's been almost 4 and a half months. Thinking back to the trip to the Granpians it seems like it was just last month. Crazy.
This past week has been pretty lame. I had my first exam on Tuesday...pathology. The whole testing setup here is pretty intense. My…
Hey! Thanks for checking out my blog. I'm studying at the University of Melbourne for the semester and I hope to keep you all up to date on everything that is going on down under!
Leave me a message telling me how much you miss me or enjoy my blog or else I'll stop adding to it...just kidding, but that would be nice :) Even better...you could send me a 5 month supply of hamburger helper and peanut butter cups since I haven't been able to find either yet. Anyway, enjoy!!!!

Hey,
SO, I am taking a little break from studying (ie. procrastinating), so I thought I would answer some questions/ respond to some comments that I have recieved over the past couple months..…
Hey There,
Just finished a paper, so I thought I would write a blog while I ride the post paper written natural high...haha. Well, not too much has happened since I last wrote.

G'day (I had to throw that in there at sometime)
It's NOVEMBER!!!! I can't believe it. Well, the past two weeks have been kind of crazy. Last week was my last week of classes, so all I have…

Do good on that last test and have a good trip home. 'Twill be great fun to meet up with Meghan and Charlie in Chicago. And suppose you will be happy to see everyone. Don't forget to give thanks for being able to experience Australia. Would love to be a fly on the wall listening to you relate your experiences.
Grandma
I will pass on your latest blog to my Curves friend whose bro lives in Sydney. She too was rather mystified by "footies." She said everyone gets very excited about the game but it was so fast she couldn't follow it!
Your time Down Under is chipping away - know you will be glad to get home but you are so lucky to have had this experience! I am just green with envy.
Grandma
I'm with your mom - looks like The Derby, especially with the hats. What is a hair feather clip??? Is the Melbourne Cup a steeplechase? They go around twice - looks like turf - must be fairly long. Auntie Lee Ann buys horses at tracks in KY. Horses that are not successful at racing often turn out to be good eventing horses. Her latest, "Chuck," for instance, won $138 in a total of 7 races. He is a great big guy and looks very strong, just doesn't want to be in the middle of all those other horses going as fast as he can.
And re eels (your pic Eek Eels) don't forget:
I don't mind eels
Except as meals
And the way they feels.
Have a good week and do good on your tests.
Grandma
I'm catching up on blogs and pix that I've missed over the past few months. It's so much easier now that we have high-speed I-net. Do the Aussies do Halloween? We had a costume and treat day at Curves this AM and I did my Marcel Marceau. (Try to picture Grandma in whiteface.) I think that I would like kangaroos; am not sure about ostriches (or are they emus?) And was one of those odd things an echidna? So many questions to ask. Guess you'll be headed home ere long, won't you? Continue to enjoy!
Mom
Havaianas? Do tell, or perhaps a mom is better off not knowing.
Have you noticed that when you write about the things you will miss, it's always food .
Love ya
Karri-- your coolest friend EVER
Ripp-on-lea. haha. i'm not quite what sure what to write...but maybe NIIIIIce. and i enjoy your blog but you forgot to tell everyone about your HAVAIANAS. which was a major event of the weekend!!!
Grandma
Maybe you or someone in your class will figure out a way to make the cane toads sterile. Think I recall from Crocodile Hunter that they are an invasive species and are destroying native species. Sort of the kudzu of the animal world. Or like pythons in the Everglades.
Grandma
I think that all granddaughters should be required to have weekly (or more realistically monthly) blogs. I love hearing about your adventures and the lost luggage tales of your pals. Who'd have known how dangerous kettle corn could be??? They were selling lots of it at the Cataract Flea Market last weekend! Did you see the video of the kangaroo on the racetrack somewhere Down Under?
Grandma
Hey, Leah, next time we are at your parents' home at the same time you are, would you make me some sticky date pudding? From your not-a-bot grandma -
Grandma
The pix are wonderful; the video is absolutely awesome. The desserts sound "tasty." Love your Aussie vocabulary - you are catching on. Sure do envy your experiences, but if I can't do them myself, I am glad you can!

Holy moley! I am so impressed. Don't think that your mother or her sisters could do that in a million years, even when they were younger. Your Uncle Michael, maybe. Surely your gymnastics background was a plus. Wow.
Mom Yea, my mom is right, not something I will be doing. But it sure does look like you had fun. xxxxoooooxxxx
