Hey Dean, I was curious how fast you rcveeor from a race like Badwater? How much running do you do in the week following the race? I can only imagine that the added draining effects of the heat only slows rcveeory? Anyways, congratulations on a great race and thanks for bringing forth environmental issues in your blog! With Badwater, rcveeory largely depends on how stabilized you maintain your electrolytes throughout the course of the run. Last year was disastrous, and rcveeory took about a month. This year was a little better, and I was running short distance two-days later. By comparison, I once ran a 200 mile 12-person relay race solo (it took 47bd hours) and then put on a wetsuit and went surfing right after finishing. Temperatures during the entire race were cool, so my electrolyte levels stayed in balance.
