I arrived in San Diego after 6.5 hours on a hot shuttle, a long border crossing because the shuttle was full and some people took a lot longer than I did. but I was the last off the shuttle as its not really an area that people go to and have heard of, not like El Tunco or El Zonte.
Kerry was doing well when I got there and still is doing well. We both had a couple of days out but most days of the 2 weeks I was there I chilled in the swimming pool. Its a great hostel because they have 2 swimming pools, table tennis, basketball court with a net for volleyball or badminton or tennis, darts board, a fully stocked bar, a kitchen for guests and they cook amazing food too if you dont want to cook for yourself! And the beds are so comfy too. Hostel is called El Roble and is the only hostel in the area.
One day me and Kerry went to San Salvador for a day out and went to a shopping centre and spent yet more money! And it was nice because we went to the cinema and watched the last Harry Potter before it was out in the UK. It was good apart from the occasional interference! but its amusing. had Spanish subtitles on but it was in English.
More chilling and lazing around the pool, topping up the tan. The weather was sooo hot and humid in the day and the night. so the pool was much needed. On my last night myself and Pierre a Frenchman tried to join the 100club. 100 shots of beer in 100minutes without throwing up, going to the loo, or moving off your stool. I failed as i hadnt drank anything for 2 weeks that id been there and only made it to 39 and Pierre failed at 86. and was so upset with himself and wanted to carry on!
So that was Playa San Diego and Im returning next week to meet Kerry and travel with her now shes had her last checkup. A wonderful place.
I took the shuttle back to Antigua, and it was just me and the driver so a good chance to put my Spanish to the test and it took 6 hours. I whizzed through immigration and the guy in Guatemala border wasnt concentrating so he gave me a new 90 days on my visa! I get to stay longer within the CA-4.
