Buenas!!!
So Im still in El Salvador. Had such good intentions to leave. Even treated ourselves to a more expensive meal which was amazing and a taxi back across town to our guesthouse. in the taxi, we were talking and visa subject come up and Kerry suddenly clicked that her visa may be up so she had a panic and we checked as soon as we got in. This was Thursday night and her 90 days ran out on Friday, so we got some advice. Some said youre in the city so you can go to immigration here and theyll reset it for another 90 days and others said just get on a bus straight to Costa Rica and risk it then enter back from C.R the day after. CA-4 is the region of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua who all share the same 90day visa which means you dont have to pay entry and exit fees and get stamps. I thought we should stay and get it fixed and leave Sat morning instead. rather than taking a risk and it not working. Lucky we did that because when we got to immigration Kerry said her 90 days was up that day and they looked and she said no the one from Honduras when they reset for a new 90days is not valid so when did she enter Guatemala. This was April 7th, so it had been 60 days over the 90days visa. The woman continued to say she should fine Kerry $114 per day and the $25 consultation fee which would work out at almost $7000. Crazy money but she chose a fee less harsh because Kerry had been given false imformation when she asked if it was reset and for the fact shed been in hospital. so she got away with a $25 fine and $25 fee which is $50. Lucky girl eh!!! So then she took the passport and said you can collect it on Tuesday and we were like noo whyy and gave her a temporary passport. That was that. We were stuck in El Salvador for another 5 days.
So now its Monday and we are hoping Kerry gets it back tomorrow. We will see, vamos a ver!
So friday we went to Cinema and watched Agents of Destiny with Matt Damon and did some shopping. Retail therapy solves a stressful disappointing day.
Saturday we chilled all morning then went to a little local veggie comedor called Sol y Luna, and the food was so good and we felt really healthy when we left! Had some really nice cinammon tea brought to us while we waited for the rain to stop.
Then went to the arts cinema with all the pretentious types that like to walk in and out and cause fuss and disruption but we got to see cowboys vs aliens which was good and cost $2.50.
Sunday we went back up the El Sanctuario to volunteer again with the dogs. So many dogs have been adopted now that its so quiet. all the puppies have gone, moccha and kahlua, hannah. Theyve all had a shuffle around and are with other dogs in the rooms. Canella is being adopted and Nino was taken for a week to see how he gets on with the current dog the people have. so its quiet. there are 2 new dogs. Mia is a cute shy white one that we need to work on her timidness and Campanita is a crazy older pup who bounces off the walls and cries if she is locked away.
When Canela saw me and Kerry, she went crazy. She was jumping up, scratching galore and licking and then took to rolling around on the floor making to loudest weirdest sounds ever then barking for ages. Never seen her do more than eat sleep and snore before! she even played with campanita later on! and we were all looking on in shock!
So sunday we walked twice all the way up to the top of the hill which is steep and a long way with the dogs that can be walked 2 each time and then half way with Paco who fell in love with a street dog and refused to move anywhere for a while haha!
So Sunday was soon done, then went for Dinner in MetroCentro which is near our hostel. We were seated next to a table of annoying childish men with 1 poor woman who had to put up with it. They were talking Spanish as we walked by and as soon as we sat down 1 man the biggest t*** started shouting in english to impress us and dancing and singing stupidly. It wasnt impressive in the slightest. Then the waiter who wasnt even our waiter decided he took a fancy to me and wanted to ask me "an abusive question" which his mate had told him to day instead of a daring question because he wanted to make the barman look stupid. Harsh so we took the piss out of the idiot and told the barman never to believe his english. the chat up went flat and i just wanted to eat my dinner in peace. Idiots. Wish i knew enough spanish to insult them properly
This morning we met Georgi and took Maggie to the vets to see if shes pregnant as no babies have popped out as expected. Nope shes just fat with the beginnings of gall stones but that can be stopped. so we took the stinking non pregnant dogs to the groomers because thats one hell of a matted and smelly dog for us to deal with.
Tomorrow Kerry goes to immigration to hopefully get her passport and i have been asked to look after the sanctuary in the morning so have a very early start to get all the buses there by 8 am.
Then MAYBE Nicaragua on Weds. fingers crossed
