Up Pompeii guys! Nothing like a vast Roman ruin to wander around - Mike you've seen a few I recall. You really do get the best campsites you two, with views of Mount Vesuvious erupting thrown in, how cool is that! Don't worry about the lack of vitamins Mum E, I'm sure the boys are getting plenty of all the nutrients they need in liquid form. I must say I agree I need to see photographic evidence of the tans guys. So brill to speak to the other night Mickey - be careful in Naples - are you doing the Amalfi coast? Don't forget if you haven't had enough art and culture you will find plenty in Florence - but you must do as the Florentines do and drink plenty of chianti at any time of the day to go with it.
Lots of love to you both! Ciao! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi boys, gald you got to Pompeii sounds like a place for all to visit. Please can you include in your log book food consumed each day so that I can check if you need to see someone when you are back due to essential lack of vitamins. Tapes on their way with Russ this week should be enough to see you through. We need pictures with you both in them so that we can see hair, tan and weight. Hope you are still enjoying it, love to you both
Mike
Made it to Pompeii! The camosite is in a really good location 50 metres from the ruines. Hopefully off to Naples tomorrow and then Up mt Vesuvius also at some point in the week. Will update the blog towards the end of the week to include this and hopefully have photos up after Rome.

Any sore heads from last night's football?
Agree with Jones. We need an update to fuel the message boarders little grey cells.
Jones.
Hello Ash and Barry.
I realise Mike that I just called you Barry, but I suggest you speak with Emma about this name confusion.
Ash I would appreciate an answer as to why you asked me about the actor Ian Holme the other night?
Hope everything is going shwell. More pics needed me thinks.

Thanks Gran C. Got to be careful or it could become addictive. Were already out of our comfort zone ie Wiltshire. Hampshire next stop.
Gran C.
Hi Ash & Mike,
we are enjoying reading about your journey and escapades; keep them coming! Also enjoying the message board.
We`ve been to watch Hampshire quite often; very exciting T20 game yesterday, helped of course because they won. Dad wasn`t happy with all players who deserted Redlynch & Hale to go to the Rosebowl instead.
We are both well, my foot is vastly improved, I`m just trying to get fit enough to walk with out group again.
Both invalids - your mum & U.David are both recovering from their ops., champing at the bit with boredom I think!
To dad E., good luck with your genealogy (from another dedicated genealist).
Grandad has had a busy day today with 3 of his son`s visiting him. (D.couldn`t come but we saw him yesterday)
Hope this reaches you . All for now,
Love, Gran & Grandad

Greeeting fellow travellers! Very impressed by your blog. Makes ours on Facebook look a bit sad. Looks as if you're having a great time. We have had a marvellous time travelling to Greece via France, Switzerland, Italy/Siclly. Arrived O.K. for my daughter's wedding in Volos, 3 weeks ago, which was great although very hot in Greece, 38degC. Making our way back via Croatia at the moment. Havng a hazy time supporting Croatia in the local bars, what a result against Germany! Hope your journey continues without mishap and see you back at home to compare notes. John and Ann

Boys oh boys! Sounds like trip is great, but having not been replying for a while I feel there are a number of rather important points for discussion!
Can't help feeling there has been an almost unhealthy interest in the concentration camps etc? Trust the van is not decked out in early 1900's memorobilia now?
So glad to hear you are both ok as well after the near miss of a terrible accident; that close to a Celine Dion concert!!!!!!!!!!!
As for the shower on the side of a tree, worked fine in St Tropez last year i recall? And a vicar eating and drinking as much as he wanted without paying? Read H,A, and M in ST, and any other holiday destination over the past few years!!!!
Got off at the wrong stop in Venice................words fail me........
As for the toilet saga, Mike, as a LeMans veteran, painful though it may be to recall, Ash needs to adopt the 'Mickey Luv hovering approach', obviously with added care needed with aim......other vets please explain?!?
Millie now safely returned, keep flying the flag!

Ooops. Anyone supporting Italy last night ?? What's the verdict over there on the offside decision??
Can you let me know how the cooking situation is and have you managed to get over the problem.
