Hey everyone!
OK, first up... yep Granny, Grandda is rite. It's illegal to have chewing gum on your person, to bring chewing gum into Singapore, and to be chewing chewing gum! You can be thrown into jail for it! Lucky I dont eat chewing gum then isn't it!! You also cant smoke, cant eat or drink on the mrt, or dance in a public area without a license! Lol!
Well, yesterday was my big day, the Zoo!! I must say it was big! I liked the concept of open enclosures, and almost scared the bujesus outta myself wen I looked down from a platform to see an Indian ghial (like a crocodile) just below me!! Some of the enclosures were a bit small like for the puma and the jaguar. They didn't look happy! But the rest were really nice! I tell you, Belfast Zoo could do no wrong in taking a few tips from there! I was very lucky with the weather, it was hot but cloudy so not unbearable! And I wore my white shorts which are somehow now striped with orangy brown marks... lol. Went to a few animal shows too which were good, the animals in them seemed happy and healthy!
At 7 I met up with Emma to go to the Night Safari! After enjoying the zoo so much I had high expectations of the safari... it wasn't all it was cracked up to be unfortunately! It was too dark to see the animals properly (it being night and all). Dont get me wrong it was an unforgettable experience, it just wasn't up to scratch with the zoo!!
This morning I woke up to find that the mozzies love Norn Iron blood... I've been eaten alive and thats wiv suncream with insect repellent AND Jungle Formula on! I've also got a bit of a heat rash on my lower calves but sure lol its not sore just ugly! Lol. After trying to calm my bites down I was picked up from the hostel and taken down to the harbour where I boarded my junk boat for my morning cruise! OK, as some of you may know, I thot of the junk boat as a small boat with junk stuck all over it... then realising that that was a typical Granny moment I changed my mind and thot of it as a small boat with no junk on it! Well... the pictures will have you laughing coz I'm sure you'll all picture my face... It was a big boat decorated with Chinese arts and a tiger head at the front with a dragon on either side! Ahem... is all I can say!!
The cruise was much more than I ever expected. We cruised off around Sentosa Island, the views were stunning, and made our way to Kusu Island where we got off and walked around. Talk about paradise, the pictures don't do it justice!! It was beautiful. Kusu Island is a very small island south of Singapore. Its name means Tortoise Island in Chinese and was named this because legend has it two men who were shipwrecked far off the coast of Singapore were rescued by a giant turtle which then transformed itself into the island! How magical!!
After coming off the cruise I met up with Emma and we went looking round the shops (dont worry mum and dad I didnt go crazy!!). We spend about 3 hours on Bugis Rd, the largest shopping venue in Singapore!! And I realised that thru factor 50 suncream, I've burned!! How??? I dont think any of this stuff works on me anymore!!
Before I go, just a very quick note... I FOUND PEANUT BUTTER M&MS!!! I was well excited lol and they're well gone!!
I'll update again soon, love and miss you all, and hope everything is ok at home xxx
