Hello again!
I have just spent about 1 hour trying to upload photos but it keeps on failing which is highly annoying, so unfortunatly you will have to wait a bit longer for them. EDIT: I changed internet cafes and stayed up into the night (until 1.53am to be exact) so that you could see the photos. So you better enjoy them!!
We had a good last night with the boys. We played a few drinking games then went to see a ping pong show then Jess and I went for a bit of dancing.
Early the next moring (on the 5th) we got up to travel to Kanchanaburi. We slept most of the way there but once there we went to the floating markets which was really interesting. You travel by long boats through a network of various river-side shops as well as sellers on boats. It was really colourful and pretty, we spotted these huge metal sculptures of the characters from 'alien and preditor' which was a bit random! We then went to the memorial cemetry for the people who died building the railway from Thailand to Burma under Japanese control during World War II. We were then dropped at our hotel to have a relaxing afternoon. Our room was on a raft on the river Kwai which was a bit odd but we had some really good views and a nice bit of rocking everytime a speed boat drove past! At the hotel there were the most gorgeous kittens ever, i have got some photos of 2 of them but there were about 6 altogether i think!!
The next day (the 6th) we went for a short ride on the 'Death railway' (the one that was built by the prisoners of war - it is called that because of the amount of people that died during the making of it, mainly due to sickness and malnutrition). There were some really pretty views along the journey. We then went bamboo rafting which is essentially a few pieces of bamboo tied together to form something that just about floats! but it was good fun and we got some more good pictures of the river Kwai. After that we visited the Erawan waterfalls which are very pretty and it gave us a chance to cool off in the water. After that we went on an elephant trek which got cut a bit short because it begain to rain but was so much fun nevertheless and gave me my first experiance of riding on an elephant!!! After a very busy we day we came back to Bangkok to stay overnight. Tomorrow we are getting the train to Sukhothai (i think that is how it's spelt) where we are spending a few days before heading up to Chaing Mai.
It's been a busy few days but i have been really enjoying myself. Thank you all for your comments, it is nice to hear from you. Hope you enjoy the pics!! xxxx
