G'day gang. We can see the sea again. Should've known we'd never make Darwin before getting here by the 3rd November, a fact confirmed by info that between Coober Pedy and Adelaide, there's a farm which is the size of Belgium.
Anyways, arrived in Adelaide a couple of days ago after a detour through the Barossa Valley wine district (see the Grapevine photo album for pix of Abi's new 4-legged fat friends.) As with the NZ vino tour, we tried to not leave any winery unvisited. However, unlike the NZ vineyards the Australian wineries a) each have a more extensive range b) pour you about half a gallon for each wine tasting and c) you don't have to cycle 10 miles between each one, which means you fit more in to the day. Result - the last winery is a mere blur, potentially we didn't even go there and just collectively dreamt the whole thing as part of some weird military experiment. To not ride in front of any passing cars on the way home was a feat in itself. Went back to most of the gaffs the next day to stock up on such palatable gems as Cockatoo Sparkling Black and Vinecrest 2000, without talking about oak and rubber and lychees, ooh yes I'm getting lychees too.
So we're back in a city now after a couple of weeks looking at the sky meeting the sand. Picking mumsy up at 4pm today so am pretty certain we'll be on the voddies by quarter to 5 so watch this space. C x
