Now that I can check Vancouver Canucks off of my list, Whistler is next. I heard that Whistler is like Åre but even better. Since it's not skiing season I wondered what there is to do on a skiing ''resort'' - turns out there's plenty off stuff to do. I took the Greyhound bus early in the morning with two other girls from the hostel, both from Germany. They had been there once before and were just as excited as I was to go partying. Perfect match!
We started out by leaving all our stuff at our hotel room and since we had no time to waste we hurried down to Whistler Village and signed up for a Zip-treck tour that took two hours. This was probably the greatest highlight of my trip. The adrenaline rush from riding in mid air really fast looking down at the trees, the creek and minor waterfalls was unbelievable. Talk about conquering my fear of heights and emptying my wallet!
Finally party time! We got ready at the hotel, went down to eat at Buffalo Bills, apparently a classic pub/club in Whistler. The food was great but really expensive and on top of everything you're supposed to tip around 15% to the waitresses, in other words: working as a waitress is good money but that means my poor budget suffered even more. Then again, you only live once! Speaking of ''you only live once''... My fellow travellers seemed to be living after those words because they went all in with the alcohol. Unfortunately they were contagious and I might have had too many drinks as well. I remember us dancing, talking to some guys.. drinking, eeeh... well that's pretty much all I can remember. Oops!
