Hello. Sorry for the delay, been pretty busy latley so its about time we updated the blog. We left Amsterdam on the 6th May intending on staying one night in Arnham, however there was no room at the inn so we decided to drive the extra 180 miles and cross the border into Sausage Central and camp just outside Bremen. The drive went well and Mike had his first attempts at driving on the wrong side of the road, not as bad as first thought. The campsite was good, just out of Bergerpark, right by the side of Stadwaldse lake. After a night of recovery down the bar we got on our bikes and cycled the 15 minute ride through the park into Bremen. Cant say there is a huge anmount in Bremen other than donkeys and Germans. We wandered around and found the footy stadium as we intended to catch Bremens last game of the season but all that were left were tickets in the buisness area and as we forgot to pack the suites we decisded against it. Our days here were mainly taken up by czcling round the park, avoiding the nudist beach! Had a bit of a problem with the money as only Ashs money had gone in but after a hectic hour or so the problem was pretty much sorted. Having left Bremen we headed for Berlin, 380 miles away. As this was abit far for us and the van to manage in one hit we decide to find an over night stop between Belsen and Berlin. One thing we wanted to see was Bergen-Belsen concentrartion camp, it was a very sobering experience, the camp itself was very beautiful, trees and grass everywhere with monuments dotted about, however everytime you turned a corner you stumble accross a mass grave holding 500-2000 bodies, made us think abit. We found an overnight stop, basically some blokes back garden where by all accounts the entertainment for the evening was 2 English Lads setting up camp, we have never felt so awkward. Left this little pit stop about 9 oclock this morning and made our way to Berlin, where we are only staying for one night as we have a rather packed schedule. Our accomodation tonight, an old army barracks in Spandau which appears to be direcly under the main flightpath into Berlin international Airport. This week we intend to go to Colditz tomorrow, then on to Munich, Bertchesgarten and into Austria on our way to Venice.
Pictures will be updated as soonm as we find an internet cafe with the facilities.
Hope you are all well.
