Hey everyone!
Time for another blog entry :) I am on my last 'off' day now before I go on my next project to Saguaro National Park in southern Arizona. I am doing restoration there, but not entirely sure what that means. No one has been on it that I know, so Im thinking it could be fairly new. It looks like it's going to be a scorcher there so plenty of suncream, water and shade me thinks :)
This weekend a group of us (15 plus a few extras that went before us) decided to take our first road trip to Las Vegas. We rented 3 cars from 'Budget' and basically hit the road :) Christine was driving our car and we had a great time listening to tunes on American radio '80's 90's and NOW!' and Becky's iPod. We ended up going the wrong way because American signs are not that clear :/ It said St Beagls (or something like that lol) followed underneath by Las Vegas, but we read it to be a different place :/ Also American signs don't give you enough time to make decisions... it's like the sign appears right before an exit, unlike Englad where you have a bit more time. We had a feeling we were going the wrong way but there was nowhere to turn back for miles. That burnt a bit of fuel - but what's a road trip without taking a detour lol? We were originally following Grant and Alec in their cars but boys being boys sped off and left us to fend for ourselves :P We eventually made it to Vegas but getting through it was stressful, but Christine is the bomb and we managed it alright :)
On the way to Vegas we stopped at the Hoover Dam to stretch our legs and get some pictures. It's so amazing :) Really big lol.
Driving around Vegas in the evening proved hectic and there are just so many people on the sidewalks.... congestion at this time of day also :/ We had a quick photo shoot as we drove past some of the sights. We were staying at the Sahara hotel - very fancy lol. We booked 3 rooms meant for 2 people in each but we crammed in an extra 3 sneakily. Those hotels are just so busy it doesnt matter to much. Really good value for money. The Sahara had its own casino and swimming pool quite typical of most Las Vegas hotels that I saw. When we got to the other end of the Strip where our hotel was located, me and Becky checked in together with most of everyones luggage from our vehicle. Then we phoned the other guys to come to our room lol.
We had an all girls room which was awesome. We decided to go out to explore Las Vegas at night. I bought a new outfit the previous day as I had no nice clothes to go out in. However, the devil shoes completely ruined my feet :( I could barely walk by the end of the night. I was limping and the straps had cut the top of my feet. (Im still wearing a plaster). We walked from the Sahara along the Strip for hours, my feet didnt stand a chance. The price of vanity. Never again. I am happy wearing trainers for the rest of my life lol. I wasnt wearing heels but the straps killed me and the balls of my feet were on fire (blisters proved that :( ) I couldnt actually walk by the end of the night so I had to leave at about 1 in the morning and get a taxi back to the hotel. I was in so much pain I could have cried lol.
The lights of Vegas were really awesome. Really is worth coming to Vegas to see that. However the sex, alcohol, gambling image was also very real. There were men flapping cards in their hands trying to sell women. The sidewalk was covered in cards of half naked women in skimpy outfits. There were vans driving round promoting sex with women. There were pole dancers in casinos. There were LOADS of casinos and gamblers of all ages. I was surprised to see so many people smoking inside the casinos. Obviously not a smoking ban here. There were people drinking on the streets for hours. So many different varieties of drinks and glasses. Open street bars. However, despite all the cards scattered on the floor and broken glass by the end of the night, the sidewalks were spotless by morning and the streets seemed well cared for. Great aesthetic appearance. For such a surreal nightlife, in the morning it would be as if there were no drunken, sex crazed gamblers at all....
I went to IHOP pancake house and they have the best pancakes in the world. I had like a New York cheesecake pancake lol.. lush. We decided to walk around Vegas in daylight and take some clearer pictures. (me in trainers this time) We went to the Vegas sign, New York New York, the M and M shop, the Luxor.. amongst many others. We passed Caesars Palace.... I have many more pictures but a slow uploader here so bare with me lol.
As we were in Vegas.. 5 of us girls decided to see a 'show'. It was our crazy, outrageous moment in Vegas. We thought it would be a laugh to see 'Naked Boys Singing'... and it turns out as the show progressed... it was more a homosexual display rather than somethin sexy for us ladies lol. They were good singers.... but seriously... there were more men in that theatre than women lol. I think all the men were homosexual and the themes they had sung about were of that nature as well... my my my.... what can we say.... it was a laugh and not what we expected at all lol. We werent to know but it was really funny and is something we would remember for a long time haha. It is true. They were naked (most of the time) and sang in a broadway style lol. Such a weird combination!! But just for the record. I was in Vegas. lol. Don't judge us.
On our last night we went to the Rainforest Cafe in the MGM hotel and yes, it was expensive but it was so delicious. I got a free cup haha. It was really cool inside with moving robotic animals and animal sounds and water fountains that made it sound like it was raining. Every so often the room would go dark and start flashing as if there was a real thunderstorm. It was really really cool. The waitors and waitressers were dressed up as rangers/tour guides which was really original. I loved it! They had this one dessert when they would shout 'VOLCANOOOOOOOOOO' as they carried it through the room. Only americans lol. I had a great time. We went on the monorail around Vegas to save our feet and it was really cool seeing the lights of Vegas again.. such as the Flamingo and Circus Circus.
I probably have missed out quite a bit but oh well.. im keeping a journal so you guys can snoop when I get home for anything I have missed lol.
Oh yeah and Mum.. found a popeyes chicken and had breakfast there lol.. didnt know if id get another opportunity anytime soon.... also when I went to IHOP they had a group fo staff singing Happy Birthday... just like that 70's show... think I might have sent you an email about it lol.
Take care and I will update after my 2nd project :)
Love you all - especially you Michael Shepard :P
Have a good week guys :) x x x x x x x x x x x x x

Helly The wiwnods OS is not free. You will have to BUY the wiwnods OS, it can cost abount 100 dollars for the lowest-end wiwnods OEM OS.Although you could always get a Linux OS. Linux OS is mainly freeware and works very well.If you do get a Linux OS I would personally suggest getting the ubuntu Linux OS at as it can support the most amount of hardware and very user-friendly. Anyway I would also suggest getting a fully featured freeware antivirus like AVG free edition or Avast home edition. Also I would get openoffice, as it is a freeware alternative to Microsoft office and works just as well.
