Well Hello!
We're back to Melbourne now, having got the Red Centre done and dusted.
We flew in on Saturday night and it was nice to return and find it was a bit warmer than last time! We headed straight into town to meet Norman's mates (Becky & Sarah) and Rik's bird (Lisa) and check into our hostel. It was a canny place indeed, just felt a bit sorry for the Japanese lad who was sharing our room!
After a bit freshen up, we did what we do best and headed straight out. After a few we met up with Colin & Duncan, the two Jock lads, and we all headed to an Irish Bar with a band on. The rest of the night was a bit of a blur but we did end up in a swanky looking club called Transport. Also on the way home, Rik managed to get himself arrested. He walked, well, stumbled out in front of 2 police cars at a set of traffic lights, while everyone else stood watching from the kerb. It was actually quite a chuckle, but a few people didn't see the funny side til the next day..
Sunday morning (possibly afternoon) reared it's ugly head and once we were all sorted (and Rik had been released!) we had a tootle to a Market in the town and had a bit food. You'd assume we took it easy that night, aye? Well we didn't, we all ended up in the Casino and found a telly with football on, so we parked in front of it and remained there for the night. When we decided to leave (only me and Norm remained at this point!) it took us a further half hour to get out of the place.. Apparently we were 'too intoxicated to be on the gaming floor' so we couldn't get accross to the exit! Bastids.
Monday was spent recovering again, then looking for some food to cook that night. A successful meal was knocked up by some of them. Was it alreet? Well, I'm still here! Nah, it was actually really nice. I just did the dishes mind! Night time rolled around and the fun continued. We decided to do the 'Neighbours Night' at a bar in St. Kilda. Basically, a few members of the Neighbours cast turn up and meet and greet people, have some competitions (one of which Norman won by singing the Blaydon Races, done son!) and a bit of a lark, then Dr. Karl Kennedy's band play into the wee small hours. Had an absolutey fantastic night which will live long in the memory!
Tuesday was a partial write off for me as I felt like death, but everyone else went swimming when we got up. Again we still managed to get out that night aswell, after some more home cooking (I was cutelry cleansing technician again!) We went to a bar that is made entirely of ice. You even drink out of ice cups! I'm still smiling at the sign on the door that said 'PLEASE DO NOT LICK THE FURNITURE!'
Wednesday was check out day, and we decided it was about time we did some more Tourist stuff, so we headed to the MCG (big stadium) for a tour, which was well worth the dosh.
After a walk back to town we did the goodbyes and just hung about til bus time. I don't think any of us wanted to leave really, as we'd all had an immense few days, but still..
Onwards and upwards to Sydney..!
